Technical Support

Instructions for using the DTU Pro program are as follows.

The concept of using the DTU Pro program from AIQ to export files from AIQ format into an ASCII file format are rather simple. First, we want to export a block of data (about 6 months) out to the ASCII files. After that is completed, we want to export only TODAYS (or a specific date range) out to the files to update them. If something gets screwed up along the way, you can always re-export the BLOCK of data again.

Set the DTU Program with the following options and attampt an export

EXPORT
* MASTER LIST
* ASCII

RANGE
1. DATE RANGE should first be set for about 6 months (ie. 01/01/00 - 07/01/00).

2. Subsequent exports: DATE RANGE should be set for only one day, or the same (ie. 01/21/01 - 01/21/01) for for a DATE RANGE that is needed to update the existing files.

DESTINATION FILE
* APPEND
* FILE NAME should include your complete export PATH and FILE EXTENSION (ie. C:\YOUR\DATA\DIRECTORY\*.ASC)
* NEW PATH ? = YES
* STOCKS

SPCL NAME EDIT
* NAME "DONT" (you name it) OK

** FOR INDEX's
* Change the EXPORT PATH (ie. C:\YOUR\DATA\DIRECTORY\FOR\INDEXS\*.ASC)
* Export only INDICIES.

After you have completed the export using the DTU Pro program, you should start the PFP program and complete the following to setup and read your AIQ ASCII files. This procedure will completely SETUP the PFP program for use with these new ASCII AIQ data files.

1. Start the PFP program
2. Click on FILE
3. Click on OPEN FILE TYPE
4. Click on AIQ ASCII files from the list
5. Use the DIRECTORY FOLDERS to select the proper DIRECTORY where you exported the ASCII files.
6. Once you have chosen the proper directory, you may need to change LIST FILES OF TYPE to '*.*' to show all the files in the directory.
7. Once you see the files listed in the top left window, double click on one to try to open it. Once the chart appears, then the program is SET and ready to go with these files..
